What exactely does it take to re-ring a motor. I've got an 86 TI motor out of a Shelby Charger (I believe). I know I need to remove the head, oilpan, and pisitons. What brand rings do you guys have good results with? Should I re-hone the cylinder walls again, even if there is visible cross-hatch. I am only doing this because compression is less than 50 on one, and around 115 on the rest of them.

Do you have the engine pulled from the car?

If so will want to to get the cylinder bores checked by a good shop.

Then see what they say and order a set of rings from Gary.

Oh yeah, you may want to just pull the head first and see if you have a blown head gasket before you start ripping the entire engine apart.

Just a thought.
