there is a line that goes the length of the crank. a wide line is forged and a real thin line is cast. or check casting numbers

I think this one has a like a 1/2" line.

The numbers on it are 6163 and 1AB

Hey an easy way is to stand it up on it's end and tap it with a screw driver and if it rings then it's steel. It has a nice ring.

Counter weights on a cast will be bumpy on the sides Like any casting, The steel crank, you WILL see the machhine marks plainly
