I recently burned a piston in my 84 tona. My question is what is the stock bore size on a 2.2L I'm thinking of buying the Mopara performance pistons. Has anybody used these pistons before? Good or bad impressions. I noticed the compression ratio they stated was 8.5:1 with these pistons. Will this small increses be very detrimental to me? Thanks for your help.

3.444" Or 87.5mm

If you have the fuel.. 8.5:1 will be o.k. If you are not going to pay attention to fuel.. then NO. How much you looking to spend??? Might as well save up and go forged.

I can't afford forged pistons. I have to get the car going fast and still make rent. The MP pistons are only around $14 a piece with rings. Although I will have to have the block bored with them. Thanks for you help.

Where at? Thats less than the cost of new rings alone.

It is at the dealership I work at. I get special employee prices :big grin: But rings are not included. Sorry I missread the catalog. They came in the other day but I don't know if I want to go through the hassle of pulling the motor and sending it out for machining. Although if I'm going to do it I may as well do it right the first time.
