Where can i find a new forged crankshaft for my 2.2 common block. Or do i even need one? Mine has 80k miles, i'm not sure what condition it's in but I don't want any F-ups when running 30# boost. Is it expensive to have them lightened?

I'd just the stock forged crank, unless for some reason you'd like to keep all the parts and the number matching block together for a possible resto later in life. The forged cranks from Turbo IIs are all the same. You could always get another.

Lighten a forged crank? Why bother when you could throw in a cast crank and have a lighter rotating assembly? I'd stick with a forged crank. If it's out of round it can be cut and you'll need some oversized bearings, but it's no big deal. I wouldn't bother trying to lighten it at all. I wouldn't bother with anything other then a forged crank either, but alot of guys are running cast cranks and they are handling all the power just fine. I like the idea of some extra piece of mind.

Mopar Peformance used to have some cranks listed in their catalog. I don't remember if they were for the common block though. I'd think you could still buy a new crank from Dodge.

I dont care about restoration, i'd probably die before i sell this car. I just wanted to replace everything under the hood with new or better parts. And yeah i'll probably stick with forged, i've already got the crank scraper done up for it.

not all forged cranks are the same. the 87 and 88 non commom block cranks have a different snout on the crank. will have to be machined down.
