HI
just wondering if the oil pump pickups were a universal size for all TD's or did they change size (and depth of oil pan) for other years and makes of the turbo dodge's?

i have an 87 daytona z and wondering if other year daytona z's pickups will fit or any other TD will do the job

Thanks for HELP.

Sorry to ask again, but i need one nonetheless if anyone has one (also posted in parts wanted section)

Thanks, Justin

match the pickup to the pan, year and displacement just to be sure. basically grab the pickup that came with the pan off of whatever motor you got it off of. 88 and older pans are different that 89+ commonblock pans and are not interchangeable im pretty sure. there is a difference between the 2.2 and 2.5l pans as well. 2.5l motors (old and new) have balance shafts so the pan is bigger. if the balance shafts are removed then any pan can be used on the motor as long as the 88-89 nonCB and CB rule is followed. the specific pickup for the year of motor and pan rule should be followed as well for safety's sake. note...... when there isnt balance shafts in a motor and the 2.5l pan is used... there is alot of space in the pan for the oil to slosh away from the pickup. some sort of baffle should be constructed for hard cornering..... good luck.

Brian

Is sloshing that big of an issue in 2.5's without the balance shafts. I agree there is probably a bit more space in the oil pan, but there is also more oil in the pan. 2.5's with no balance shafts will take another litre of oil. I looked at the pics of your baffle and I was wondering with 5 litres of oil in there will that baffle do very much? Just wondering......
