No Oil Pressure On BRAND NEW CHRYSLER SHORT BLOCK

I got a 87 T2 Short Block from a Chrysler dealer and I got it all installed and go to fige it up and get no oil pressure from it. I'll take off all the wires and turn it over a bunch and get no pressure then when I start it up I still get ne pressure. The neddle just sites at 0 and doesn't move at all. I cleaned up the wire connections but I put in a new turbo oil drain tube and it's not hammered all the way in, would that cause absolulutly no pressure in the system? I read a thread that you have to PURGE AIR OUT OF THE PUMP, how do you do this. If it helps everthing else on the engine is new too except the sencers.

Remove the oil filter, Fill it with oil and then put it back on, yes some will leak. but you need to prime the pump. I would remove the timing belt and spin the int shaft as well to bring up pressure. You can see the pressure by having the valve comver off and watching the caps.

would it it cause no oil pressure or oil pressure loss if the turbo oil drain tube isn't fully pressed into the block?

No, the drain is gravity fed, your concern is on the pressure side. You need to heed Ken's advice. He told you exactly what you need to do.

What are you checking oil pressure with? Could it be a guage problem?

go to autozone and pick up a $20 mechanical oil press gauge and make sure that your oil pump is primed

Listen to Ken....Don't crank your engine!

pull out the distributor and disconnect the timing belt. grind down an old head bolt (ar anything else) so that it fits in the groove where the distributor was. put it into an electric drill and spin it clockwise until you get pressure.
