what should i use to paint my block, i figured just a hight temp paint, and i will just spray paint it. the block was dunked in a cleaning tank already.

the valve cover is red, the intake manifold is silver, the i/c pipes are red, so i was thinking to paint the block red or silver. What color is factory?(black i think) and what color lasts the longest.

black would be the best, becuase it would look clean all the time, or moreso than red or especally silver, but red and silver would give more of a show car appeal.

thanks guys, any tips/suggestions would be great, any pics would be great too!

peace

if it where my engine i would paint it red. because i think it would look better. a black engine would look cleaner but it would be harder to spot leaks.

i debated about painting my block black cuz im going for the total blacked-out look. but it would be really hard to spot leaks...and i ran out of time, so it didnt get painted

I painted my old block black, but for my new 2.5 I'm going with red I think it will look better than the black. Too much black under my hood, valve cover, intake, hoses, wire looms. Red will look much better I think

Why not go with a darker shade of either colour (red or silver/grey)?

By going dark tint you could have some of the 'clean' look (hiding dirt) but then it still wouldn't be totally 'black'd out!?!

A dark slate grey (or better) with metallic would look great when cleaned (show) but would also hide a certain amount of dirt, and also by not being totally black you could still look for those pesky leaks.

I'm running 2 cars with HEMI orange... Looks great in a blacked out engine bay.... A third will happen soon....

The GLHS is going black though.. I have other plans for "sprucing" up the engine bay... CSX blue wiring loom to match the exterior graphics...
