Have an 89 Shadow 2.5 Turbo/AT. I have a(n) 87 TII. I want to put the TII in there instead of the 2.5 that is blown up. Is it possible to do that w/o a lot of S**T. People tell me to rebuild the 2.5, but I have the rebuilt 2.2 that is wating to go into something. I myself don't see any probelms except the accesories. I don't really know. If anyone has done this or know more about it please feel free to add anything. But don't tell me to rebuild the 2.5.

Also if you have a 2.5 block you wanna sell cheap with new pistons, rings, bearings and such. Let me know.

Thanks David

it will bolt right up for the most part...Your car's computer will be calibrated for a 2.5 though, and will run a little rich-get a 2.2 T2 computer, and you will need to run a couple more wires from the computer to the intake manifold for the intake charge temp sensor....you may as well go ahead and intercool it too, while you are at it. A daytona rad/IC, and hoses will fit in your shadow. Good luck. If you get stuck, ask away!

Thanks, I was planning on doing all that. air sender, intercooler, and a two piece intake, but i'm not sure on the intake. Anyways thanks for the imput. One other thing. The computer change. I need a(n) 88/89 TII 2.2, not 88/89 2.5 computer, and the piggy back wires for the change air sender. Does it matter that the car is an auto for witch type of computer I use for that year.. All wires will mate up where the computer goes. I have done a similar setup in an 85 Omni. But it was basiclly going from TI to TII, I guess this is sort of similar. Thanks Omnivore for all you help, I hope you can answer this too. My mind will be made up for witch parts I half to buy this week

David

An easy lace to find the charge temp sensor and it's pigtails is on some of the 3.0L V6 cars (Dynasty, Minivan, Acclaim/Spirit, etc.)..It'll be right on the passenger side end of the intake manifold-grey plastic and it is just threaded in there....unplug it, unscrew it, then chop off as much of the pigtails as you like.
..The 88/89 2.2T2 smec is correct, and they aren't tranny specific...I have a 2 pc intake complete for sale if you need one.

I think the computers are all transmission specific...if you have an auto car, get an auto computer. I'm not positive, but just to be on the safe side.
