Crossdrilling by hand

So I have this nice 2.5 common block here, it's cross drilled, at least halfway, seems they only crossdrilled it on the back side, not the front. Anyways, the head doesn't have any matching coolant holes at all. Can I drill them by hand with a drill? Seems like I should be able to.
I picked up the MP 2006 headgasket from the dealer for $15.. **** that's a good price.

Blocks were never drilled from both sides. They settled for drilling one hole since chances of breaking drill bits when crossing the first hole outweighed the benefit.

You can easily drill the head by hand. I've done 2 heads myself.

Very interesting. Ok. Guess I'll drill that head sometime today.

Yeah, I've done a few by hand also. Use a 3/16" drill bit and angle it the same as the stock x-drill (45* angle? Been a few months since I did this). You can use the 006 gasket as a template for where to start the holes. Have fun, let us know how it goes!

Angle is more like 31°, I think.
