Hmmm, 2.5 not good up high.. I wonder if that's just a case of bottlenecking. Wonder if it'd rev higher with a well ported 16v head. hehe.. Someone's probably tried it already...

yup has been tried and it still wont make power past 6k. I think brians car made stupid amounts of tourque at like 2500rpm (500ftlbs) and 334hp give or take at 5800?

Yeah, Danny's right. I remember those figures roughly being that as well. I likened it to and old non-Stage 1 Buick 455, tremendous torque but not too much HP. Something like 475 lb/ft @ 2500 and 225hp @ 4500 is about what the GS-spec 455's put out.

Now don't get me wrong, with the right gearing I wouldn't have to use the high rpm range when racing, the torque could pull me through. But when paired with a 555 and 205/50R15s the RPM is just a little higher than what would seem ideal. Still, the 2.5 will lay down rubber from a roll in 1st-3rd, just pick a gear and gun it!:big grin:
