I came across a magazine article that suggested chamfering sharp edges on pistons, such as in the valve reliefs, stating that the edges could become "hot spots" that could lead to detonation.

Opinions?

Every little bit helps
I ran a piece of 600 grit sand paper very lightly across the sharp edge of the vavle relief, you don't need to totally radious the corner but just clean off the crisp edge
Did this before the pistons were balanced, then again if your taking off enough to throw off the balance you've probally one too far

most people do the same to the combustion chamber as well, but again, not enough to change c/r, just a little smoothing over
