I have an 86 GLH, and I'm converting it to blow-through (turbo 2 w/o the T2 bottom end) Basically it's going to be stock except for a GLHS stage 2 and a 2.5 or 3 inch exaust, and then a supra intercooler. I'll also probably play with the timing some. I want to be sure my rods will handle that, I know it's not many mods, but I've heard the stock rods are really weak...Is there any chance of my rods going south at this level?

And just to clarify, i'm referring to the 86 rods, the weakest turbo rods if I'm not mistaken, not the earlier ones.

86-88 2.2 TURBO I rods are 30 grams lighter than the above rods and should be replaced at the first opportunity! They are not suitable for performance engines and will fail with no warning.
well this is cut from donovan's site. think of it what you want but i think the LW rods would be ok at 200hp. no personal experience with them though
