I got the chance to get a 90 common block that is part of a running motor with 70,000 on it. Its a 2.5 n/a mill. What I would like to know is will my 8 bolt 2.2 crank bolt in this block.I would like to use this block to build a 2.2 turbo. Heinz 57 variety to get a strong reliable mill out of it.

If your 2.2 crank is out of a commonblock you can put it in, if it's from a non-commonblock engine it won't go.

you dont have to redrill the block.... you can route it to the oilpan like i did. however you gotta make sure there is clearance for the axle/cv joint. either way isnt bad.

Thats what I needed to know. I knew about the block drilling just wasn't sure about the crank. On turbo dodge in one section it says they're not interchangable and in the other it sounds like the earlier cranks won't but the later ones will. I believe if I remove the the counter balance shafts I'll have to plug a hole. Now, I guess the ques tion is could this n/a motor be turned into a turbo motor or would I just be better of to find a turbo motor/common block.
