Ok well pulled off the head on the minivan and I see some hairline cracks, I couldnt get them to show up well on the camera so I drew in where the cracks are in red, I need to know if this head is still good or if Ill have to find another to work with.

If the head is good what should I have the shop do to it. This won't be raced or anything btw, just for a daily driver.

The first pic shows the 2 cracks on the surface and the 2nd pic is the crack on the outside of the head it runs further down behind the spark plug too..

Thanks in advance guys the sooner you can help me the better off Ill be I hope I dont have to get a new head.

IF I do happen to need a new head what is the best way to go about it? I have seen remanned heads for like 250ish before I don't know if thats the best way?

Thanks
-Matt

Your head is junk. Probably cost more to fix it than to get a good used one.

Junk? Mine had SEVEN cracks! Three betveen in/ex valves and four water or water to cylinder grooves. Good weld, some shave , porting, and its like new again! Thats a lot of deposits on it but I dont see any real damage.

As I said, it will probably cost more to fix it than to buy a good used one. I wouldn't waste the time or money. Good heads can be purchased for $50-$100. You're looking at $200 at least to fix that, unless you have a shop that will do it for nothing.

yeah, in states maybe, but Im located at east europe and there are three daytonas and ten lebarons in whole country and any purchase cost a part price plus twice as much for shipping My head was done at local helicopter maintenance factory with new valve seats and gamma scope inspection for internal cracks for 100$ in total....

Fastem,
That head is junk.Normally when they crack above the spark plug hole they are also cracked thru one of the lifter bores as well.
Call Rick's Cylinder Head in Milwaukie,Oregon. He can fix you up with a good rebuilt at a reasonable price
Good luck "thumbs up

Do a search on Koffels Place and find there web site. I think its B1heads.com I believe the have a connection in switzerland that may help on shipping. Of course I have no clue about shipping in europe but it's got to be cheaper than from the US. I would email Koffel's and see what they say. I hope this helps.
