Had my engine rebuilt and after about 70 miles or so lost oil pressure. Crank is now bad and needs to be replaced. Fortunately, it's under warranty, but the rebuilder says they can't find a crank core because it has to be the same crank from the same year from the same engine. Is this true? They claim some balancing difference in other year cranks??? Bottom line, I need a crank that will work in my '86 GLHS. Std/Std in good condition so it can be turned 10/10. Let me know what will work and if anyone has one available. TIA

What do you want for it? My car has been in the shop for 6 weeks while they've been "looking" for a crank. I definately need one to get them going. Email to steve@brotherstrucks.com
and let me know.

Isn't the 85 crank a 6 bolt crank? he needs a 8 bolt. But he can use any 8 bolt 2.2 crank, cast or forged (like t2) crank from 86,87, and 88.
If you can't find one, I'm sure there are plenty of people on the list that have one to sell, or you can buy one, turned and ready to go from FWD Performance.
Later,
Cindy

how much is the shop going to charge you for repairing the car? are they going to pull the motor or pull the tranny and then raise the crank into the car?
