Well its been awhile since ive done any work on my dodge. I havent had time mostly. Now ive got the time and I need to get some new pistons. I wanna get forged pistons and crank. What brand would you guys recommend? Or how bout this. What would you guys do? Im rebuilding my 87 2.2 T1 and converting it to a T2. The short block seems like its in good condition. I never got around to doing a compression test on it. So i dunno if the cylinders had good compression or not, but it ran fine with an occasional misfire. I never figured out why it did that. But anyways the head gsket went and I decided that if I was gonna tear into the engine like that, Id make a project out of it, rebuild the thing, and make it a T2. So would it be a good idea for me to get forged pistons and a forged crankshaft? I dont want the bottom end to blow out of it if i really wanna run it sometimes. What do you guys think i should do with it?

Keep the crank. cast holds up fine.
Any Forged piston is better than stock
Venolia, JE, Wiseco are all good

And most important....USE T2 rods with ARP bolts
or aftermarket rods (expensive). But the T2 rods hold up fine
