here is what you have to do to your block on the right for aluminum rods to fit in the engine... left is untouched...

10 pts if anyone can name that block :big grin:

And are also ridiculously over kill for any 8 valve application. WTF is with everyone pushing those gay Pauter rods. They are not anything new, they have been available to the DSM people for a long time. They are overpriced and over kill for most applications where Crowers would be more then sufficent as is what the DSM people figured out.

The clearancing of the block also had nothing to do with the fact that the rods were aluminum it has more to do with a length that was not stock in the block in the picture.

that and every set of aluminum rods I have seen are bigger/bulkier (but lighter) than their steel counterparts.

That looks like more work than a 383 Chevy stroker
I expect it will make more power though.
Are the "bigger/bulkier" aluminum rods any lighter than T2s?
I assume that they are longer and getting shorter/lighter pistons?

that is a pic of the rod and piston.. i would say it weights HALF of what a stock piston and rod weight...

o yeah.. and they are stronger than a T2 rod... its been proven that stock T2 rods will break down over 500hp.. :big grin:

and its a NOT a Chevy motor.. its a MOPAR BABY!!!... 4-cylinder.

Id be hard pressed to want to subject that to installation! Imagine getting it all dirty?

Since it is an I4 you don't have to clearance 8 holes.
I noticed your sig now says "screw the 2.2". Just a bad day,or are you building bigger? Sounds like you're gonna need a Superman T-shirt if you don't already have one.
