Alright guys, I am looking for a set of 4 GOOD condition t2 rods. I do have a question thow. I am doing the t2 conversion to my 85 shelby charger. So its a 85 t1 block, which I was told had stronger internals, whatever. If I go with t2 rods, will that work with my t1 crankshaft??

Ok one more thing, and please dont beat on me for asking this, I dont want to bother cindy with another un important email when she has millions anyways. To whoever has ordered off her site (fwdperformance.com) how many packages of the clevite 77 main bearings will I need for a whole motor? Just one package? And same for the rod bearings, I think I need two packages? AND, what about the sealed power rings, looks like only enuf rings in the pic for two pistons, some one please help me out!

yeah itll work with the crankshaft except that you will have to use t2 pistons with retaining clips to keep the pins in unless you use something exotic like teflon buttons which i dunno if anyone has tried lol. if you stick with the 85 rods youll prolly crack your block before you mess up a rod. check to see if you have 10mm headbolts too. if you do youll want to retap for 11mm or get a 1989+ commonblock 2.2 and use your rods and pistons.

youll also need the related electronics/hardware and whatnot to convert. im sure youve seen the turbo database on www.thedodgegarage.com good luck

Your 85 rods are just as strong as the 89 up t-2 rods.
Its the 86-88 t-1 rods you do not run.

Yeah, u know what? I am pretty sure I do have 10mm head bolts. I bought 11mm and was gonna have to take them back becuz they wouldnt fit. Will they still slide thru the head once I get the block tapped? I have darn near everything to do the conversion, yes thanks for the info on that site. I am ordering some pistons off fwdperf, along with rings and such. Im thinking I want to just get t2 rods dont I? For 75 bux the machine shop dude said he can make it so that the t1 rods will use the floating pin, but for 75 shouldnt I just get t2 rods? Or are my 85 t1 rods stronger than the t2 rods? LoL, one more thing, how come I will want the larger head bolts?? Is my t1 block going to hold up?

Oh ok, should I just pay the 75 to have the rods made so they dont use the pressed pin, instead have them use the floating wrist pin or whatever?...and will my block hold up? I am hoping to run around 15psi and maybe get around 230hp.....
