Hey, rebuilding my 2.2 T2(88 block). I'm going .020 over and what is the better cast(staying more stock) pistons (w/std flaoting pins) . I was looking at mahle's at FWDP for $135 with new pins and clips???? Also good rings I have seen sealed power for $80 and hastings for about $60. Others???

So basically if I could hear peoples stories, experiences and preferences. Poss places to buy and costs???

Never used Mahle. Sealed power or Hastings, either one. Both have excellent rings, especially oil rings.

Make sure either ring is the moly ring.. The "premium" rings will wear quickly and are for A/a motors. I've had great luck with Hastings. seated almost instantly.

Mahle's are good pistons... I wouldn't use another brand if I had the choice in our cars.
