Garage Storage Organization and Garage Cabinets

Well my t1 to t2 project has just turned into a full engine rebuild. After learning about the advantages of the t2 rods and pistons over the ones in my 86 (thanks to dodgegarage) and my money situation, there was only one solid choice. I found a torn apart t2 block in the junkyard w/ the pistons and rods. What am I gona need to do the transplant? Also should I grab the crank while I'm at it, or just use the one in my 86 t1? Any input would be helpful.

u did not specify the yr of this TII block so it is hard for anyone to answer u.. so just grab the crank and use it and all of its components..

It's out of a 89 Chrysler TC. My car is a 86 Laser XT.

ifs its an 89 TII block means its a commonblock.. ur crank will not work with it.. use everything from the 89 block they r stronger than ur parts from ur 86 block... also the 89 block is crossdrilled , u can try and cross drill ur head urself aswell to match it..

So are you saying that I can't use the 89 T2 pistons and rods in my own 86 T1 block? I just figure I've put enough time and work in this car. I just want it to run right and be reliable, otherwise I might as well send to the crusher and go restore a old 911. I really don't feel like getting another engine for the car. I don't have an engine crane or the time.

sorry i thought u wanted to replace the block aswell... as long as that block u say u found is a 2.2 block ur ok to use the pistons and rods in ur block..

Thanks man. I was ready to faint. I've been working on this thing since november restoring it. I wana start driving it in May at least. I'm probally going with a s60 or s70 turbo. Though I gota figure what I'm gona do for a radiator and intercooler. My radiator crumbled.
