Hey. im thinking of doing a turbo conversion on my rampage. Here is my plan. Ive got an 84 NA carb engine freshly rebuilt. Im gonna be putting a 85 turbo head on this engine. My plan is going to make it T2. Ive got a 86 T1 engine w/ a valve chatter and i didnt want to use this engine. THe problem i see is that my 84 engine has a 9 to 1 compression. its just bored .030 over from stock. Could i just use a thick headgasket?
Another question. The oil and coolant return lines. Will i have to drill a hole in the block for the coolant return and a hole in the oil pan for the oil return? Thanks.

As for the oil pressure line, that runs off the front oil galley, you would to drill the block or oil pan for the turbo oil return, and also for the turbo coolant return.

9:1 should be ok, just can't run high boost without higher octane fuel. Good luck, should be lots of fun.
