what is the difference performance or endurance wise, between a forged piston and a cast piston. how do the methods differ??????

Performance wise, there's no difference.

Endurance, the forged piston will take a lot more beatings (detonation) than a cast piston will.

A forged piston is made from a solid piece of aluminum. It's pressed into a shape roughly resembling a piston, then machined to the final shape.

A cast piston is made by pouring a liquid (molten) mix of aluminum and silicone into a mold, then machining to spec once hard.
