I replace the large intermediate shaft bearing and it feels like it needs a lot of force to move the shaft by hand.

Is this normal for a new bearing?
Should it go away (haven't fired up the engine yet)?

Same thing happened to mine (fresh from the machine shop too!). Couldn't turn it without using a wrench! Which upon further inspection I saw the oil holes weren't even close to be aligned. Saved myself some grief which I'll give back to the owner of the shop in "Person"

They're easy to install, I used the shaft as my "mandrel" and got some longer bolts and the stock cover to "Press" the big bearing in place. Then I did the small one, I had a small sleeve that slipped over the end of the shaft for a spacer (then the bearing)and did the same thing with the cover. Shaft spins very freely now (several turns by itself when spun and let go).

Hope that helps....

I installed mine myself...and yes, the oil holes do line up. I can turn it by hand if I hold onto the gear but have to use a considerable amount of force.
