I am in the process of rebuling the motor off of my 86 GLH-T and I want to add parts that will increase the strength of the engine. I want to keep performance moderate. I will be running a pretty simple setup: TII intake manifold with injectors AIS and TPS, talon intercooler, stock exhaust, k&N air filter, 15 psi of boost on stock garrett, and stage II GLHS computer. Since I already have the eninge apart I figure I should go ahead and take precationary measures now. Are T1 rods the weak point in the T1 engines? I want to use TII rods since they are stronger then the TI rods I currently have, but I am unsure if this is possible. Can you use TII rods with TI pistons? If so is it a direct swap or do I need to change out other things as well? Anything else I should due to make the setup I listed above safe to run?
Thanks for the help
