what is the safest maximum psi to run on t2 mahle pistons w/ hastings??
anyone have examples of mileage(longevity) and psi levels? curious, as i dont have my extra block built yet.

and on another note, how much hp would 2.5 n/a rods be safe to??? (donor common block)

thanks

34 psi with MANY 1/4 mile runs.

They are stronger than they appear!

So far, 22,000 km's, 20-29 psi, and still alive with 140 ish even compression. Just make sure you have enough fuel and the proper timing and they will live. Just remember, they won't take the abuse as forged so a couple of bad pinging runs and boom, lol!

34 psi holycrap

when i built my motor on desktop dyno it made only 10 mor hp and 15 lbs tourge going from 25 psi to 30 and the heads flow abilities dimisished horrible.... i didnt think a head would even flow when pushin ne thing over 30 but mines a 8 valve i assume urs the same....

i dont see the point in running htat mush boost if u dont gain significant power levels its just more wear and tear on the turbo...
and at he price i paid for mine i dont wanna have to buy another.

Wear and tear on Turbo? Bah.

Desktop Dyno? Ha Ha Ha.

Try a real dyno, or perhaps the dragstrip!

When you run mid 11's let me know.

well 22psi, and we upped the timing to 14 maybe 15? and im not sure what happened. started getting blo-bye, before i got to 15 psi, head gasket? no oil/ water mix, 140 90 90 140. comp. didnt raise with squirt of oil in cyl. didnt get lean, no pinging 94 oct w/ oct.booster, plugs show no signs of detonation. tops of pistons are wet. gonna pull head later. needed to put in new clutch anyway, stock disc w/ used rps p. plate was slipping some. rings, head, gasket??? any suggestions?

ill know when the head comes off. did it lift?
shortblock was biult by FM.

dont mess w/ the timing stupid should have known better, some people learn better by trial and error i guess.

I agree, Desktop dyno, bwhahhaaha, Sorry,

Anyhow, you blew the headgasket. How, you have cylinders 2 and 3 at 90 psi meaning there leaking into each other thats why theres no oil and water gettting in. Use a Mopar gasket next time and ARP head studs for extra insurance. Poeple are mixed on this but for the price, why not!

fingers are crossed for rings now. gasket looks excellent(mp perf.) tops of pistons still look clean. some marks on walls, though. cant tell for sure till pistons are out, cause there was still some marks on walls when recieved from FM? a good hone shouldnt still show marks from previous problems? Hmmmmmm!!!
no visible cracks or rounded edges on pistons. thinking ring failure??? (never seated properly, if they had the chance). also i was using mopar performance gasket, and mp 11mm headbolts.

What does the gasket look like between cylinders 2 and 3. Is it dark? if so, thats where it blew. You should still see the crosshatch pattern in the bores, thats a good sign. If you can't, then you have wear.

Back on the original topic of this thread.. Just out of curiosity, what octane are you running when you push 34psi?

I run 110 Octane, just for piece of mind more than anything.
