Has anyone used this kit? Cindy told me that it needed to be slightly modified to work correctly. can anyone help me out? i'm going to start building on friday and would like to know by then. trying not to call and bother cindy, i know she's really busy right now.

You need to leave the washers off the middle three caps. The '89 and later motors use main caps that are taller for 2, 3 and 4 and the studs are a little short.

I thought Cindy was using longer studs in the center to avoid that?

Only if you call and request the middle ones be longer and there is an additional charge.

The standard kit will work OK in a 87 (non-common) block, right??? I'm getting ready to build too- my stuff should be back from the machine shop next week!!

Just check and see if the middle three main caps are taller than 1 and 5 or the same height.

If they are all the same the standard kit is just fine and if not, just leave the washers off or get the kit with the longer studs.
