Piston Identification

I am about to send in my 91 2.5 common block to the machine shop to get it bored and honed. It was originally a junkyard motor that I used to convert my 87 Lebaron from 2.2 to 2.5L T2 intercooled. I have to get the pistons ordered up first. I just noticed that there is a letter 'C' stamped on each of the old piston tops. Does this in any way refer to the piston size? I am hoping that this motor has not already been previously rebuilt and that I can still get it bored and honed. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, it refers to piston size.

Stock sizes are 87.5mm. However due to production tolerances, they have 4 "sub-sizes" (all still considered stock size). They're A,B,C and D. A is 3.444" (87.5mm), B is .0001" larger, C is .0002" larger and D is .0003" larger. So each letter after A represents 1/10 of a thousand of an inch.

1 ten-thousandth of an inch. It will not be an issue.

Thanks Guys! I guess I'll be ordering up some .030 over cast Mahle pistons. Does anyone know if fwd performance ships to Canada? They have a sale on 2.5 litre pistons and rings....$115us for the set of pistons and $69 for rings. I called the dealer and they wanted $150 Canadian per piston.

If you're gonna crank up the boost past 15, I'd suggest forged pistons.
