Hey all again!

Just one other thread for now, anyone have the experience where the heat level hits H (for hot..) and then drops back down to about 1/4 way heat, this has been happening latley where i have to restart the car several times before it kicks the heat out and new rad fluid back into the motor. any help is appreciated.

Thanks -

P.S. already replaces the themostat.

Thanks again.

Well i already tried to change the termostat and that didnt cure the problem. My Rad seems to be going now, so il be replacing that with a new one or a performance one. remember its a K car, not a top of the line car

Are your heater valve hoses hooked up correctly? It will cause this type of problem.

My GLH started doing the same thing after I removed the heater core assembly a couple weeks ago. The gauge would go up to 3/4 and then drop to 1/4 for the first few minutes of driving, and then go back to being normal. I only drove the car a few times before getting it ready for a full TII swap so I never took the time to diagnose the problem.

Good luck,
Brian

Thanks Brian,
although your only went up to 3/4 the way mine went past where it was (H) Hot , then droped down to cold, ive been told itsthe head gasket that is gone, but i think il just keep the car the way it is, im getting the adaptable 2JC engine that fits put into the car, sleepers kick.

Thanks again

if it overheated over and over again you most likely have a blown headgasket. if it did it once i might just be an air bubble.

valve cover gasket..... cork if its a stamped seal cover, silicone if its cast and 89 and newer.

2JC? huh? if you are trying to say that you are going to adapt a supra motor to the car... its a 2JZ anyway... good luck in whatever you are going to attmept lol

Drill a small 3/32" hole in the therostat plate. Sounds like gas buildup behind the thermostat...a sign of a leaking headgasket or cracked head.
