1) I heard that it puts an undue mount of stress on the Intermediate shaft. I wouldn't worry about it. Most cars here are running stock volume/pressure pumps.
2)I think it would be a good idea. More oil it can suck is more oil it can push.
3)Not sure about this one. I would say do it the same way they measure piston to valve clearance. Put a big god of modeling clay on the pickup tube and put the oil pan on. Measure the size after you take the pan back off and that'll tell you how much clearance there is.
4)We used the end gaskets from the gasket kit we got I think, and then used silicone sealant on the other part. It works so far, hopefully we shouldn't have any problems with it before. A guy that we know was a Chrysler tech, and he told us to do it that way. I trust him on that.
