Got the new oil pump and pickup in tonight, it was fairly a quick job 3 - 4 hours considering the room I had to work with. what took the longest wast getting the oil pump gear parralell with the crank. Put anaboric sealant on both the mating surface and the mating surface of the pickup/oil pump (just to be sure there was a good seal).

pic 1 is the difference in the pickups. I am willing to bet the new one is going to flow a whole lot better than the stock

pic two is the other oil pump I had in, as you can see the part I had to switch out with my old old oil pump to get my stock pickup tube to fit. also notice the oring?? the o-ring that came with my new pump was at least twice as thick as that one if not more, plus it was orange and had a more rubbery feel to it. yes you may see its broken in half, I did that trying to put the stock pickup back in the old oil pump to see how lose it was in there. the oring was fairly brittle as well

I have not put oil in the car yet as I am giving the anaboric and the mopar gasket maker (for oil pan) time to set up. I will prime the oil pump and let you know the results tomorrow. I will also post the results of the leakdown test tomorrow as well. Lets hope this problem is in the past.

Oh I almost forgot to mention when I took the oil pan off there was hardly any metal sludge at all. I did a clearance check and everything well within tolerances.
