#3 Injector apparently plugged, ~5psi part throttle boost going up an on-ramp, started missing, the pictures say the rest :-( Less than 100 miles since I got the car back on the road after building a new 413 for it.

http://www.***************/gallery/Steve-Carnage

So now what.. another 2.5? 2.2? oviously forged pistons are in order. Anybody have some suggestions?

Injectors ar +40s, so I need to test them all and see if any others are bad, then order some new ones up, along with a new fuel rail & will upgrade all lines and fittings to AN connections & a big canister fram fuel filter setup.

Frustrating!!!!

I doubt you really need them, however if you want to spend the money

I think you had a clogged injector head. Upgrade to forged, check the injectors, and then add a hole for EGT for each cylinder. Then you can just swap it around, and use a bolt to cap off the unused holes.

I saw that rail/combo earlier. I think however I am just going to modifiy my rail for an AN fitting at the end for fuel feed, cause I already have the adjustable FPR for the stock setup.

Get one of those, and weld it in the end, cut & weld the stock bung off.

As with the EGT's I will probably wire up all of them into the car, the meter that is in the car can have 2 inputs, may try to find a 4 input setup.

Freaking cars anways..

its a trade off. you bought the car from someone else. there is the possibility of the hole being mostly there, and then you ate away the last little piece.

replace the pistons with forged, check your injectors, and then go have some stinkin fun.

This is true about the hole possibly being on its way there. The motor might be out of the car this afternoon if I can scrounge an engine stand. I want to see what the rest of the piston looks like, IE if there is any skirt left, I would imagine a huge hole in the side of it anyways.

you saw the bronco's pictures of the melted piston. a hone should do pretty well. then get forged slugs. melting the wall is hard since it is such a huge heat sink.

The cyl wall is fine, it just needs to be bottle brushed to get the melted aluminum off it. Is it worth trying a stock Mahle and just a new set of rings on that piston and seeing how long it lasts? (Note: thats not something I would normally do, but if people have had any good results it would be considered)

Andrew Richardson's old car yes.

He's taking a break...not for sure, but he's considered my car for a long time now.

Andrew was very picky...he would have fixed anything wrong had he known about it. We talk often and I know this well.

yeah Andy kept awesome care of the car. as it was kinda unfortunate, its a chance to beef that motor up. Whitey is down for now, but definitely not out. Steve will get 'er goin' again.
