this winter will hopefully mean a TII rebuild for my tired old 88 block...i plan on keeping the crank, and just changing over to Mahle .020 pistons and TII rods. Now i know that i need to have the block bored, but what else do i need to buy for the rebuild and what else do i have to have done to the block/crank and everything? how much is this gunna cost me?...i mean, i did get into TDs cause they are supposed to be the cheapest way to go fast but i do have a budget

and i will be replacing my poor excuse for a turbo with something a little bigger

Check out the engine components section over at FWDPerformance.com, there are a bunch of little things you'll need. Such as rod and main bearings, freezeplugs, rod bushings, intermediate shaft bushings. Possibly an oil pump (might as well replace it, cheap insurance). I'm in the middle of an engine buildup myself, and that's what I did. I also told my machine shop to tell me what to do with the block, they have far more experience than me (actually, I have no experience in bottom end engine rebuilds.. heh). So far so good, I think I'm only into it about $400 for the machine work. I've spent more than that for machine work on a head before.
Good luck.

TTT...I know more than just one person on this forum has had this type of work done!
would it be cheaper to just buy a TII engine and put it in?

You need to price the stuff out yourself. You don't need T2 rods if the engine is already a T2.
Here's what you'll need:
Rod bearings
Main bearings
Intermediate shaft bearings
New pistons and rings(since you're boring the block)
Crank seals
Intermediate shaft seal
Head gasket
Maybe a new oil pump(only if the other one is junk)

You can get all the parts from Mopar, the rebuilders, auto zone, shucks, who ever, it really depends on what it is.
As for machine work read this: Going to rebuild the shortblock soon enough..

A rough budget for a rebuild can cost close to a grand all said and done.

Figure:
4-500 for all the machine work
Bore&hone
Resize rods and install/fit bushings (if applicable)
Deck block if needed
Polish or machine crank if needed
New intermediate shaft bushings ~$40 installed
New bearings ~$50
New rings ~$75-100
New pistons ~$150 cast $350+ forged
new oil pump ~$50
Gasket/seal kit ~$100-200 parts store vs Mopar
~$150 for hardware, ARP rod bolts, new intake/exhaust bolts&studs, main or head studs if you want.
~$100 for miscelaneous stuff, oil, coolant, plugs, etc.

Take it in steps and it won't be too bad. About the toughest sticker shock you should come across is when you get the machine shop bill and the bill for the pistons. The shop will need to measure the bores to determine the size pistons needed and then bore and hone to fit the particular pistons that arrive in the box. If a shop is willing to bore and hone a block without pistons on hand find another shop; they aren't doing right even for a stock rebuild on a Yugo.
