Another old q but its important

got an 86 tl block freshly rebuilt with mahale forged pistons and 6 bolt crank

how far can i push this, i am planning on running at least 300hp. is this safe?

I'm sure he's gone faster now, but I remember Jon (csxt665), ran an 11.9 in his csx-t on a stock 88 t1 block bored .20 over. That's with a relentless cal. Definatly some fine tuning!

Are you sure that those mahles are forged and not cast?

the guys at forward motion say the actual block itself is good to about 300 hp in a street/strip car, other places (dodgegarage.com) put the limit at 250. I've talked to others who feel the early block is given a bad rep (and are running high hp in them) the rods are what will be the weak point.
