well got my short block ready to go back to the engine shop and got to look at a few things up close, first the main front crank seal is leaking oil, and i noticed that i can move the JE forged aluminum with file fitted moly rings a little back and forth.is this normal? i have heard that the forged pistons need a little more clearance than cast.it isn,t any huge play just a small side to side.compression is really good ,a little high maybe,at 145psi with # 1 being 140.so just wondering if the pistons are supposed to be like that or they are to lose.???

J.E. recomends .0035" total clearance for thier .020" (3.465") over Forged pistons. That is .00175" clearance for each side of the piston. Yes, they do move a little. You also must take into consideration that some of that movement is diagonal movement and may seem to be alot of movement wall to wall.
