I have a set for my SRT4 project car. There are DSM guys running over 600hp with them. I would say they are better then tII rods anyday. They come with Arp Wave-loc's bolts too. Even if they are a little smaller they use stronger metal. The stock rods running at 500 hp, ok, but for how long before the big boom?

The only eagle rod i've ever seen in person were broken. They came out of an n/a drag car and it had about a 90* counterclockwise twist in the center then it separated, the guy was lucky though the piece left didn't touch anything inside the engine. It didn't look like an rpm failure, it looked more like an excessive power failure.

I've never heard anything bad about them though, but this guy said he had gone through 3 total in a few years with them....

If i was gonnna go thru all that trouble to get the crank to accept Chevy rods, I wouldn't use Eagles. Don't get me wrong, they are a good rod for something up to say 100hp per cyl give or take, but not much more than that.

I think I would take the 600-700 bucks in crank work and JUST get some custom rods.

My cousin lost an engine in his Sunfire with a Turbocharged Ecotec because of the Eagle rods.

I'd get on the horn with this guys and ask. I would also post on SRTFORUMS.com asking how good they are.

They share the same wrist pin diameter as our 2.2/2.5 motors.

Like I said in my previous post, the Mistu guys have good luck with them, but the eagle rods for our motors use smaller rod bolts, which i believe would compromise strength. The guys at Forward Motion agreed with me that the t2 rod was still a better choice.

BTW, I am friends with the guys from DSMotorsport, and they know the Horizon

No point in risking failure when the Stock rods have proven them selves to be plenty strong.

Being a salesperson you learn to turn down sales from people who ask too many questions- tech support after the sale kills your profit

If I were speaking to a sales person I may have expected that. I was however speaking to someone in there tech dept. I have deal with this guy before when I had a set of rods let loose in a Ford 347 Stroker I had built. No, it didn't have eagle rods originally, but it does now. I originally used a SCAT Crank and rods. The car lasted about 4 days, small end of the rod broke and Destroyed the Piston, head and block. I transfered the crank to a new block and then installed Eagle Rods and a replacment piston. Eagle was Very helpfull to make sure I got a set of rods that would hold up, yet they advised me to use the Stock rods in my TIII.
