Sine you got a rare block, you can possibly save it by grinding the O-rings' heights down so that they are flush (or almost flush) with the deck when pressed in.

I must be a lucky dog I guess. I'm o ringed and run what many call junk Fel Pro and a Mopar gasket. Seemed like a good idea at the time. Maybe I'm just fueling my motor well enough.

I guess im a lucky dog too kev, and I like the felpro hg.the only hg ive blown was a mopar and my block was o-ringed, but i think it had more to do with arp studs not being torque tight enough.

Just not something I'd do personally, If it works for you GREAT

I don't see the need when what I've seen from it is the head tends to "lift" easier when O-ringed.

Only gasket failure was with a Mopar gasket when using studs and no gasket sealer cause I was in hurry. Leaked a little after hard runs but not around town. I went back with stock Mopar bolts and Mopar spray gasket sealer, no probs since. Even my high compression road race car ran both Mopar and Fel pro, o rings and no probs. But I dont think o ringing is mandatory, just like to keep my cylinder pressure locked up in there. If its gonna blow, its gonna blow

went to a g-head ha ha,no i use the felpro 9296pt and torque to 92 ftlbs then back all off this seems to seat the o-ring then retorque to 87ftlbs.this is with arp studs, when i originally bought studs had problem with head lifting i talked to a guy at arp told me the studs need to be pre stretched, you know how they make the snapping sound when torqueing they are not supposed to do that when pre stretched.i was told to torque and loosen 5 times and they were right on the money no more snapping.i think when not running an o-ring the mopar hg is the best, but with the o-ring wasnt seating well for me,i think the fire ring on the mopar hg is a little harder than the felpro which could explain it not sure.i would not run a felpro hg on a non o-ringed block.with this setup i have ran 26psi with 29 degrees total advance.and 35 total to 21 psi with 110 octane.

Does anyone know where I can get the Mopar Performance o-ringed headgasket (I think the part # is p4452007) or the fel-pro gasket?
