What is the casting number(s) on a T-II crank? Looking up parts online, some applications are by casting number. Appreciate if anyone having a T-II carnk around could LMK. Thanks.

Just so you know, there were two different TII cranks. One for '87-88, and one for '89 and up TII TIII and TIV common blocks.

Cast cranks have proven reliable in applications of 400+ hp.

After reading info on this site, maybe the post should be changed to "can you use T-II rods with a cast crank?" or "Am I ok if I add an intercooler and MP computer to a T-I without beefing up the lower end?" I've now seen a lot of posts about cast cranks being ok for lower HP apps, and lots of different discussion on the rods. The extra metal on the big end of rods seems to have an equal number of persons that think it is great and those who say it is no big deal and the stock rods are fine.
Appreciate the opinion, anyone else?

People are using the cast crank in high hp engines, so I'd say it was fine to use. The rods.. depends on the year. You should be ok as long as they are not LW's. (86-88t1?)


and yes you can use T2 rods with a cast Crank (89-up). Stock 89-up 2.5L T1 common blocks use that setup.


What are you plans anyways? There are a lot of variables If its not common block parts.

Mopars casting number for the T-II Forged Steel Cramkshaft is "4323815" thats the 87 to 90 2.2

That must be a missprint, because common blocks (89-up) and pre-common (88-earlier) cranks are not interchangable.

The diffrence between the 2 blocks are 11mm in deck height....... if you are using a 2.2/2.5 "CB" thats the Crank Forging number to use.....but it will fit into a non "CB" the 2.2 crank in a Long 2.5 block will de-stroke the motor, lower the compression down and the piston will sit 6.125mm lower then the top of the deck. The cranks throw for the 2.2/2.5 "Common Block" is 92mm
and the old style 2.5 is 104mm

Just remember the real thing to watch for and its not that big of a problem is the older cranks used 6 bolts for the flywheel (1981 to 1985)and the newer cranks (1986 to 1994) use 8 bolts. The fix here is just get the flyweel need for the crank

Other Cranks that are Forged Steel are STROKER Cranks From Mopar Performance
