I just reinstalled the head on my 87' 2.2 using new Fel-Pro headbolts and washers. I didn't use any oil on the headbolts. I now have read a thread where it says to do so. Should I remove the bolts one at a time and oil them and re-torque? Thanks for any advice. Mike

no leave them. if you followed the proper procedure the headbolts have now been stretched and if you remove them then you should get new ones.

notice how the headbolts were slightly oiled, they come like that from fel-pro. although a little extra oil never hurts.

Now that you mention it, the headbolts did have an oily film on them and yes I went by the FSM when reinstalling the head. Thanks Mike
