well, my car is lighter than that, so thats a plus.. i did look the at the DDG but i thought it was a little conservative and that if it was a hard and fast rule that they broek around 225+hp, more people would complain about breaking them.

it doesnt specifically state that there was a difference in the blocks between an 87 t1 and t2, is there?

thanks

I'm thinking of running bout 270-280hp on my 87 T1 block with stock internals but it has 2 IC's and extra injectors. I've been running close to 220hp right now without a problem. By the way I forgot to mention the engine is in an Omni.

Is it possible to strengthen a T1 block with T2 internals?

Yea you can put in Mahle pistons, forged rods, and crank form a T2 car of the same year.
You may want to look at http://www.thedodgegarage.com/turbo_shortblock.html
I hope this helps.

If your talking T1 CB, it already has the T2 internals minus the forged crank!

but an 87 is not a CB. I would definatly put at least the t2 rods and pistons in it. The 87 t1 block will have the lightweight rods in it and those have been known to fail even at stock boost levels.
