i have a 91 2.5 t2. when i start my car and let it run it seems to run fine for a bit then the coolant in the top hose from the rad to the head starts to bubble(boil i think). the temperature reads fine inside the car. i also hooked up a manual fan. when i shut the car down, there is some coolant loss. there is no coolant coming out of the down pipe, or in the oil. where could this coolant be going. could my block be cracked, and if it is what visuals could i look for and where would i look. any info would be graet help thanks chris.

You may have a blown head gasket.

Is there big puffs of white smoke coming out of your tail pipe? Or does the exhaust smell funny?

When you replaced the headgasket, did you check the head to see if it was warped at all or had any cracks in it?

Sounds like a similar problem that I encountered. I changed fans, flushed several times and eventually recored the radiator and put a new waterpump. I then had a buddy change my head gasket while I was at work. Things worked but when it was extreamly hot outside, or I ran the car hard it would bubble the same way. When I tore the engine back down for a complete rebuild I found that it had the wrong gasket installed. Several cooling ports were closed off.......Moral of the story is to do the work yourself!!!!!! Just a thought cuz it sounds like the same problem. I remain #84GLHS.
