ive been reading through my 2.2 mopar book but no where does it mention the oil pump shaft instalation or maintanece.

what sorta gaskets or steps do i need to know before i install this part

Are you talking about the intermediate shaft? All you need is some anerobic sealer between the seal retainer and the block. The rest is cake. You will need to get the A/C bracket out of the way if you have it installed. You may also need to drop that side of the motor if is it an L-body to clear the shaft.

no for when your rebuilding the motor seals and stuff needed turned or what not

You can't or shouldn't get it "turned". I don't know if there are oversize bushings for it... I've never heard of that. As long as the bearing surfaces on the shaft aren't scored up there shouldn't be a problem. You may want to give it a quick polish to get rid of any small imperfections. Other than that its just clean it up and re-install.

There are 2 bushings pressed into the block to support the shaft. The seal & seal retainer will hold it in place. Use anaerobic sealer on the seal retainer-block surface - only around the very outside of the retainer, not in that "groove".
