I just picked up a 2.5 cb out of a 90 turbo van. It was in a u-pull-it yard. I dont believe it was the origianl block, for two reasons. One the last 8 digits on the VIN did not match what was on the back of the block. And two, when I took it apart, there were two larger connecting rods and two LW rods in it.
Just my luck to pick the screwed up one.

Sounds like a Rebuilt motor, Jasper and other companies have been known to mis-match parts.
