I have a 89 2.5 T1 engine which I plan to build up into a nice n/a setup for my omni. I would like to run higher compression (about 10:1 maybe). If possible I'd like to keep the strong rods but I haven't been able to find any floating pin pistons that offer a higher compression. Are there any out there? Flattops? Are milled down T2 pistons reliable?

I hate to plug FM after all the shit they put me thru but they have hi-po stuff for the N/A engine. Also, do a search on here, someone had made pistons using off the shelf items and milled the top down to get flat tops? Maybe type in NA or N/A, it was a few months ago, he made like 300 hp non turbo.

Yeah...i saw that thread earlier...

I was wondering how strong the pistons would be after milling all that material off the face? And wouldn't that put the first ring up a bit high?

I actualy asked him about it, he milled top off the pistons to the bottom of the dish. I don't think that the ring would be too higher than in the standard 2.5 pistons. Just some thoughts.
