Is the cast crank from say a 92 2.5 TBI engine the same as a crank from a 92 2.5 turbo engine.
Thanks
Andy

According to the Dodge Garage, yes. The 2.5 crank was the same from '87-94 for turbo or TBI engines.

I don't think it was exactly the same. The snout was probably different because of the front seal thing. I think the tall deck engines used a 2.5 crank with the 2.2 pistons and rods? The 2.2 pistsons are taller than the 2.5 pistons and thats why they added height to the deck so the pistons wouldn't pop out the top. right? I'm just guessing here so someone correct me if i'm wrong.

Hmm... Did it have a 4 or 5 bolt accessory pully?

Actually the 2.5 tallblock(86-88) used longer rods. 157 vs 151mm for the commonblock according to thedodgegarage. There is some confusion whether the crank and the seal covers are interchangeable with the commonblock.

This site says they are different:

http://minimopar.knizefamily.net/per...rodengine.html

But the second poster in this thread says they are the same.

WTB 1986 - 1988. 2.5L "tall Deck block"

A friend of mine has one in his garage. I should really compare it to some of the commonblock stuff to see for myself.

adios,
Tom
