Now, I was told that the 2.5 T1 engine came from the factory with such goodies as forged pistons, a forged crank, and forged Manley rods. Is this correct?

Basically - no.

All of the CB 2.5's (TBI or Turbo) used the same cast crank. The pistons were cast aluminum from Mahle. And the 2.5 T1 rods are exactly the same as the T2 rods.

but the rods being T-II rods is a good thing. T-II rods are very tough. I have never heard of a T-II rod failure.
