Just removed the oil pan to do some cleaning. Seemed a good time to improve oil flow. Question is, can you remove too much from the pick up? And can this cause problems? Used a dremel, took out about half. Thanks.

I would just remove the tin restrictor in the pickup opening, thats all I did with mine. Nice easy flow into the pump. Leave the screen in place though.

only problem will be if you don't clean *absolutly* all of the metal that the dremel flung everywhere. After you think it's clean, clean it another 3 times.

There is no metal to grind, you pull out the tin with some tin snips.

While it's apart look at the block mounting surface.
The hole in block is "smaller" than the tube's base and
there is room to open up block a bit.

Have not seen you around in a while. You been avoiding my threads I removed 80% of the tin, so all should be well. Having fun enough redoing vac lines.

Anyone have experience with teh pickup tube that is 100% mesh sock?

Im using it now, and i think its from my original 86 TBI engine.

The more you remove, the more important it becomes to have the entire sump covered, or cavitation will result.
