Right now i have my 90 2.2 vnt common block apart needing all these repairs


If i find another block what year would it ne the same as mine


what i mean by that is with the common block that i have and the forged crank any t-2 block right??

any commonblock. though you would need to remove the balance shafts from a 2.5 commonblock.

only the 2.2 vnt had balance shafts right

im not sure on the vnt, they might have had them. all 2.5 common blocks had them.
hopefully someone else will chime in for the vnt's.

ok so for a replacement block i can just look for a 2.2 90 up common block right i am not using the balance shafts anyway or if im lucky a 90 vnt common 2.2

adam i see that but what i am trying to figure out is if a 2.2 cb and a 2.2 vnt cb is the same

Since the vnt came with shafts and the reg 2.2 didnt Is the oil perssure feed still there and its just pluged up ?

The 2.2L T2 common blocks were not drilled for the balance shaft oil feed. You can get an 89-94? 2.2L block and crank, but only the VNT, T3, and T2 motors will have the forged crank. If you can't find a good 2.2L block, you can always go with a 2.5L bottom end, as the 2.5L T1 motors had the standard HD floating connecting rods and the same block as your VNT motor. I hope this helps.
