Same question is on My mind. I wish they made some with a little more side skirt to minimize piston slap.

As I understand it, when the Wiseco's were custom made for TU, they had them increase the meat under the rings, to really reinforce the ring lands in the event of detonation.
That's my 2cents.

I have Ross Pistons because of various complaints about other piston manufactures. Of course they are still going into the car, but the point still stands.

So are you saying that the information on that page is kind of outdated?

No, Chris could have specified additional changes to the pistons. They were not "copies" of stock to begin with.

They are both excellent pistons. If I had to choose, Id do Wiseco, they are a much lighter piston, but still very strong. If you want a little more side clearance, the Venolia is certainly looser, until it warms up.

LOL really.... you have practical experience in that. Mine weighed 443 grams each for a 2.2L. Not light.

The Ross pistons in my 2.5L weigh 461 grams each. I guess they're real porkers!

I chose Ross because they were easy to work with, and make a quality product. I'm sure others are equaly as good though. I'm happy with them.
