I'm building a 90' 2.2 CB with FM Enforcer II head, I plan on running 20-22psi with a hybrid turbo. Anyone have their block O-ringed? Any problems with it?

Don't O ring it. Since the advent of MLS gaskets, many people, including GN and Mustang guys, who used to O-ring their stuff, have stopped doing so.

only problem with mls style gaskets is they DO leak boost, cylinder pressure between the layers. sce has released there new titan copper gasket. it's a copper gasket that has embosesd silicon around all the oil & water holes. no more common leaks that were a problem.

I have a cometic on my car with no leak issues. Also many OEM cars are using MLS gaskets. I have never heard of the problems you speak of.

If your head and block is straight, running new head bolts or using studs, MP gasket, correct tuning, you will have no issues with NOT o-ringing the block.

Once it's o-ringed, you can't go back. Then you are stuck with copper gaskets or NOS MP gaskets for o-ringed blocks.

I only want to build it once, so I'm gonna use ARP studs in everything. So you think I should use MP head gasket?

I'm shooting for 375-400whp. I'll be using one.

I do understand most people's opinions.
I was running a MP 006 Headgasket in my car last couple years.
Never really had a problem blowing gaskets (even at 34 psi)

But with that being said:
My new block will be "o-rung"/"o-ringed"
The head has a receiving grove in it.
Complete with a custom made copper headgasket.
Head studs have been increased to 1/2"
I have been told that I will never have to take the head off for the life of the motor.

For a street car, I would like somewhat of a fuse. Look at Reeves. He screwed up. Lost only a gasket. That was after tons of passes and some street driving. What would have happened if he HAD been running an imoveable head gasket. Bent rods?? Broken forged slugs?? Head damage from peices flying around in the combustion chamber??

Give me a fuse... short blocks aint cheap when done right.

Good points Ken, thats why I left the stock rear band strut in my tranny, someone told me it was a fuse, rather than break the band,
