I'm just making sure I order the right stuff. Which hold up better? I'll be running .040 w/ 8.5:1 comp. on a 2.2L

both are equally excellent pistons. I have used JE, Wiseco, Ross and several other top quality racing pistons. all performed flawlessly. I prefer Wiseco just because of cost....they were the lowest price

That what I was going to order, but I just wanted to make sure nobody was having issues with them.

I know that with the DSM community they are the worst. They did tests and found that the Weiseco's had a high silicon content and that was causng them to overheat and crack.

Not the case with our engines. Wiseco's are the best bang for the buck.

I've seen Wiseco 2.5's (the 1st ones they made) take 460 ft lbs... on pump gas and survive head lifting detonation...

edited to add... he forgot he was running "all" of it

Id take a broken set of Wisecos over a new set of JEs, but that just me. I use the Venolias, and really like them, but if your down to the other two, go Wiseco.

Good stuff. I'm in this debate right now. The owner of the Enforcer II block I'm buying suggests the JE's. The biggest problem is that the pins on the JE's from FM are .912". The Wiseco and Venolia's don't come in that size. Anyone know what it runs (if it's even a good idea) to open up the small end to .927? The JE's are $100 more a set from FM, but if it's gonna cost $75 to punch the rods, I'd rather save my time and spend a little more.

Wiseco's can come in stock .901 size or the .927.
It will be atleast 75 to bore the small end on the rods, so YOUR best bet is to go JE's since you already have the .912 pin.

I like Je pistons! They are probably the lightest piston you can get for our motors, yea they are a little more expensive but their the best.

Like you, I had the same question. The mechanic that saved my hyde on my turbo dodge uses JE. He has a Charger running 18-20psi daily. (18 on CAL then bled to squeeze 2) That man can't keep tires on that thing! He has had no complaints after a year like that.

How much do the Mahle pistons weigh? My JE pistons weigh 108 grams less (each) than stock. I consider Mahle a good piston but I see JE as an upgrade
